What is Lung Cancer?

Lung cancer is a type of cancer that occurs as a result of uncontrolled and abnormal growth of the cells of the lungs. Lungs are an important organ that enables the body to exchange oxygen. Lung cancer seriously impairs the function of this organ and makes respiratory function impossible.

What are the Types of Lung Cancer?

Lung cancer is classified into two main types: small cell and non-small cell. Non-small cell lung cancer is further divided into subtypes such as 'lung adenocarcinoma,' 'squamous cell carcinoma,' and 'large cell carcinoma.'

What are the symptoms?

Lung cancer symptoms may differ from person to person. But the most common symptoms may be:

The most effective way to prevent lung cancer is to not smoke or quit smoking. You can also reduce the risk by implementing the following prevention strategies:

  • Avoiding exposure to harmful chemicals in the workplace
